Patients usually attend therapy sessions 5 days a week, with each session lasting about 4 hours. This schedule allows for intensive therapy while providing flexibility for patients to manage their daily responsibilities. The frequency and duration of sessions can be adjusted based on individual progress and therapeutic needs.
PHP is a more intensive level of care than IOP. It involves more hours of therapy per week (typically 20-30 hours for PHP vs. 9-12 hours for IOP) and a more structured daily schedule. PHP is often recommended for individuals who need a step down from inpatient care or a step up from IOP, while IOP is better suited for those who require less frequent support.
A typical day in PHP includes a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, psychoeducational groups, skill-building workshops, and holistic wellness activities. We also provide breaks for meals and relaxation. The schedule is structured to provide a balance of support, learning, and practice of coping skills.
We offer a variety of evidence-based therapies, including:
Yes, our PHP program includes medication management services provided by a psychiatrist. They will evaluate your medication needs, prescribe medications as needed, and monitor their effectiveness and safety.
Yes, family involvement is a crucial component of Altura’s PHP. We offer family therapy sessions and educational workshops to help families understand the challenges their loved ones are facing and learn how to provide effective support. Family involvement can significantly enhance the recovery process by fostering a supportive home environment.
The cost of PHP varies depending on the length of treatment and your insurance coverage. We work with most major insurance plans and can help you verify your benefits. Please contact our admissions team for a more accurate estimate based on your individual situation.
Many patients continue to work or attend school part-time while in PHP, as the program operates during daytime hours. However, we recommend discussing your specific commitments with our team during the assessment process to determine the best approach for you.
We do not provide transportation to and from the program. However, our facility is conveniently located and easily accessible by public transportation. If you have concerns about transportation, please discuss them with our admissions team, and we will do our best to help you find solutions.
If during your time in PHP it becomes evident that you need a higher level of care, we can facilitate a smooth transition to inpatient hospitalization or a residential treatment program. Our priority is to ensure that you receive the appropriate level of care to meet your needs.
Getting started is easy. Simply call our admissions team at (619) 350-0077 or fill out our online contact form. We’ll be happy to answer your questions, schedule an assessment, and guide you through the admissions process.
Yes, we offer rapid admissions and can often admit patients within 24 hours. If you’re in need of urgent care, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
We can accommodate various dietary needs and allergies. Please let us know about any dietary restrictions you have when you enroll in the program, and we’ll work with you to ensure that your meals are safe and nutritious.
Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us. We adhere to strict HIPAA regulations to protect your health information. We will not release any information about your treatment without your written consent, except in situations where we are legally required to do so.
After completing PHP, you’ll work with your treatment team to develop a continuing care plan. This plan might include stepping down to a less intensive level of care, such as IOP or outpatient therapy, or transitioning to other support services. We want to ensure that you have a solid plan in place to maintain your progress and continue your recovery journey.
